![]() ![]() Okay, so first you clearly state that 7.0 was delayed to 2024, I guess we both agree the realistically anyone who has played 14 for any length of time would think that 7.0 would come out in 2024 anyway, so that's disingenuous and clickbait at best. So unless there's a crunch I don't see the need to steal team members and the current 16 timeline seems pretty generous. ![]() But from what I've read they basically built the 16 team up since shortly after CBU3 finished Heavensward. The only real overlap is Yoshi P himself and I don't think he alone would delay the release of an expansion by much. A delay would be April or later in my mind, and like I said the minds of my static members who have almost all been playing since Heavensward.Įdit: Also after thinking about what you were implying I don't think there is much overlap at all between the 16 and 14 teams at this point. So everyone I have talked to prior to this announcement 100% expected a February or March release for 7.0, so this is not news to me. Except everyone of my static members ive talked to about it (I joined in ShB) has told me the expansion is always a month or two later than a normal patch. With the new 4 month patch cycles that have been standardized in endwalker (and we started seeing a bit in shadowbringers) that gives us December 27 2022/Janufor 6.3, for 6.4, Septemfor 6.5, and following that trend at the absolute earliest Janufor 7.0. Just want to point out that youre having some sort of misconception about when 7.0 was "originally" going to release. Though, they could expand 6.5 to two parts, or even three parts to make up for the lost time. So even with all things considered, if 7.0 does not release within ~2.5 months from Dec 2023, most players will consider that a major delay, as it will cause concern for a major content lull. Which ultimately means to "delay" 7.0 for a more suitable release frame. Then comes the busy April, where it's of job hunting and relocating/moving homes. Not to mention that FFVIIRP2 comes out in winter, so they probably want to avoid doubling up on major releases, not just for the matter of cannibalizing their own sales, but also because the 2024 fiscal year is just around the corner. But given the circumstances, that's already delayed as is. And going by the delayed Endwalker expansion, the least one may expect 7.0 is Dec/Jan. That's the expectancy for each expansion. ![]() Even Yoshida is aware of this relationship between the dev team and players. Like, anyone who's played XIV for more than a few years know exactly when to expect patches and expansions. Well, for players of FFXIV, it indeed is a delay. ![]()
